The Nixons
Foma
|
I opened the cover to the Nixon's MCA debut album, "Foma," and
looked at the photo I thought, "Oh, a band that wants to be like
Stone Temple Pilots!" After I listened to it, I then knew that it
was a band that wanted to be a cross between Megadeth and Stone
Temple Pilots.
Well, The Nixons do unleash pretty heavy moments on "Foma", as in
the title track. Then they wax country at points (possibly in honor
of lead singer Zac Maloy's grandfather) as in "Sister". One thing
is certain--the Oklahoma-based Nixons have a lot of energy in this
record and would probably put on a good concert.
