Barstool Prophets

What is a Barstool Prophet? Somebody who spends his whole life sitting around
and telling you stuff you already know, but swears that before he came along
you didn't know it. That's a pretty good way to describe the band. Another
way to sum up "Crank" by the Barstool Prophets is that it's about as
imaginative as the picture under the CD in the case: faces pressed
against glass. This CD offers nothing, musically speaking. It's a
thrash of guitars and drums, and it appears they didn't even try to
coordinate their instruments into an organized set of successive tones
and sounds (a.k.a. "music").
